Rust-Preventive Coatings Waxy petrolatum, solvent-borne

Waxin 60®

Thick-film waxy rust preventive for long-term outdoor and automotive protection.

A thick-film, waxy anti-rust protective applied as a solution in hydrogenated solvent. The dark residual film resists salt water and salt spray, protecting metal through long-term outdoor storage, even at low temperatures.

Overview

Waxin 60 is a thick-film waxy rust preventive that gives strong, long-term protection on metal surfaces stored outdoors. It is applied as a solution at 55% active in 45% hydrogenated solvent; once the solvent evaporates, the dark residual film is highly resistant to corrosion.

The cured film resists salt water and salt-fog exposure and performs well even at low temperatures, which makes Waxin 60 well suited to automotive anti-rust applications and heavy-duty, long-service protection. With a 60 °C (140 °F) flash point it is combustible rather than flammable.

Chemistry: Waxy petrolatum protective dissolved in a hydrogenated aliphatic solvent (55% active / 45% solvent).

Applications

  • Formulation of long-duration protective fluids
  • Outdoor and long-term metal storage
